Government Ram Bhajan Rai New Education Society Post Graduate College, Jashpur Nagar was established by “New Education Society, Jabalpur” in the year 1963 as a private college. It was taken over by the Government in 1981. The college has been functioning as lead college since 1st April 1999. In all the college has seventeen departments. It offers post graduation in twelve disciplines i.e. Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology, Botany, Commerce, Geography, Political Science, Economics, History, Sociology, Hindi, and English. It provides research facilities for three subjects History, Economics and English. Proposals for as many as 10 new postgraduation and professional courses are awaiting Govt. approval. For the smooth functioning of the college the college also has a Jana Bhagidari Samiti.Department of Higher Education, Chhattisgarh government re-christened the college, Government Ram Bhajan Rai New Education Society Post Graduate College, Jashpur Nagar in the name of eminent freedom fighter late.
