Department at a Glance
Department of Chemistry was established in 1983 under the guidance of Dr. Arun Kumar Mishra, (Head of the dept). Every year more than 250 students secured B.Sc. in chemistry degree and more than 30 students secured M.Sc. in chemistry. These alumni are well established in various fields such as chemical industry, academics, administration, business etc. Our department has well equipped laboratory. These are enriched with sophisticated & advanced instruments like Potentiometer, melting-point apparatus, hot air oven, magnetic stirrers digital balance, conductometer, spectrophotometer, flame photometer, etc. At present two permanent, two guest lecturer (temporary) faculty members and one non-teaching staff are working in the department.
Currently the department has sanctioned seat of one Professor and three Assistant Professors.

We envision our students as excellent chemist, not only in the field of science, but also in good citizenship and discipline. We awaken the young minds so that they can excel in the chemical sciences.

The Department of Chemistry at the Government Ram Bhajan Rai New Education Society Post Graduate College, Jashpur Nagar is dedicated to the instruction, training, and intellectual development of graduate and undergraduate students to awaken the young budding minds and discover their talents both in theory and in practical chemistry, our knowledge is further shared widely to enhance the public’s understanding of chemistry through community outreach. We achieve these goals in accordance with the principles of inclusion, equity and diversity.
