LIBRARY RULES AND REGULATIONS


  • All the faculty/students/staff shall sign in the gate register at the entrance of the library.
  • The property counter at the entrance is to be used to keep your Personal Belongings.
  • The library reserves the right to check any document taken out of the library.
  • Use of Mobile phones is strictly prohibited inside library premises. If found, the membership, as well as the use of library facilities, may be suspended.
  • Smoking, eating, chewing gum, and tobacco are strictly prohibited.
  • The library membership is open to all employees and students of the college.
  • Loss of the card should be reported to the librarian in writing immediately.
  • Only writing materials will be allowed inside the library, personal belongings such as loose garments, shawls, umbrellas, briefcases, files, etc. are to be left behind at the appropriate place near the counter.
  • To get a book from the library, a library card has to be presented along with the book at the issue counter.
  • The card has to be presented at the time of return also.
  • Misuse of library privilege will be regarded as a breach of discipline.
  • The Circulation counter services will be provided from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm only.
  • UG and PG students will be eligible to borrow two books at a time for two weeks only.
  • Research scholars and faculty members may borrow six and eight books at a time respectively for a one-month duration.
  • Ad hoc and visiting faculty will also be entitled to borrow eight books at a time for fifteen days on the recommendation and responsibility of their heads of the department/s.
  • Administrative staff will be allowed to borrow two books at a time for fifteen days only.
  • The students/faculty will inspect the book/s and bring it to the notice of the counter assistant if these are damaged before getting them issued, otherwise he/she will be responsible for any damage detected at the time of return.
  • Journal will be kept in the central library and not be issued in general. However, a part of it may be photocopied in-house with the prior permission of the librarian.
  • A book issued can be renewed on or before the due date.
  • A borrowed book should return within the due date, otherwise one rupee (Rs.1/-) per day per book will be collected from the user as an overdue charge through challan. After paying the fine you have to show the challan to your Librarian.
  • No Books can be issued once the fine crosses Rs. 50.
  • Reference Books/Journals/magazines and Library copies will not be issued to any Users.
  • The librarian has the discretion to recall any book even before the due date, in case there is urgency.
  • The documents borrowed on the card are not transferable.
  • "No-Dues" certificate will be issued only after surrendering the card at the library.
  • This regulation may be amended from time to time by the library committee in the interest of users or if the appropriate statutory bodies feel so in the interest of the college.
  • Anything not covered under this regulation will be governed by the act/statute/ordinance/notifications issued by the university from time to time.

The college is situated in the northern area of the city surrounded by beautiful hills and breathtaking greenery. Situated in the thickly tribal populated area the college has its own spacious campus and building. It has well stocked Library and UGC funded Network Resource Centre.
